1. Who We Are

HomeworkLand ("we," "us," or "our") is an AI-powered educational homework platform designed for children in Grades K–8, operated by TapStudios LLC. Our service is directed to parents and legal guardians — not to children directly. Only adults may create accounts.

2. COPPA Compliance — Children Under 13

HomeworkLand takes children's privacy seriously and fully complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA):

• Parents create all accounts. Children under 13 do not directly register, create accounts, or submit personal information to HomeworkLand without a parent or guardian doing so on their behalf.
• Verifiable parental consent. By creating a child profile, the parent or legal guardian provides consent for us to collect and use their child's information as described in this policy.
• Family Link feature. Extended family members (grandparents, aunts, uncles, older siblings) may connect to a child's progress using login credentials shared by the parent. The parent controls who has access and may revoke it at any time.
• No behavioral advertising to children. We never use children's data for advertising, marketing profiling, or any purpose beyond delivering the educational service.
• No third-party tracking of children. We do not allow third-party advertisers or data brokers to collect personal information from children through our platform.
• Parental rights. Parents may review, correct, or request deletion of their child's data at any time by contacting tapstudiosedu@gmail.com. We will respond within 30 days.
• Data minimization. We collect only the minimum information needed to provide the educational service (name, grade level, and optionally an email or phone for notifications).

3. Information We Collect

Information provided by parents:

• Parent email address (account login and notifications)
• Child's first name and grade level (to personalize assignments)
• Child's email address (optional — only to send assignment links)
• Child's phone number (optional — only to send SMS homework notifications)
• Child's username and password (parent-created, used for Family Link connections)
• Payment information (processed securely by Stripe — we never store card numbers)

Information generated through use:

• Assignment responses and scores (used solely to track academic progress)
• Points and reward records (managed by parent, visible to child)
• Assignment history and completion dates
• Family Link connections (who is linked to which child)

We do NOT collect: Social Security numbers, precise geolocation, biometric data, photos of children, or any sensitive personal information.

4. How We Use Information

• To generate AI-powered, grade-appropriate homework assignments
• To auto-grade submissions and deliver results to parents
• To send parents email notifications when assignments are submitted or graded
• To send SMS notifications about homework (only if parent provides a phone number)
• To track academic progress and reward points for children
• To enable Family Link connections between children and their extended family
• To manage subscriptions and billing via Stripe
• To respond to support requests

We do not use children's personal information for any commercial purpose, advertising, or data profiling.

5. SMS Messaging

If a parent provides a phone number for SMS notifications, that number will receive messages about new assignments and scores. Message frequency varies based on usage. Standard message and data rates may apply.

To opt out: Remove the phone number from the child's profile at any time, or reply STOP to any message. Reply HELP for assistance.

We never share phone numbers or personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

6. Data Sharing & Third Parties

We share data only with the following service providers, solely to operate HomeworkLand:

• Stripe — payment processing (stripe.com/privacy)
• Twilio — SMS delivery (twilio.com/legal/privacy)
• Resend — email delivery (resend.com/privacy)
• Base44 — app infrastructure and database hosting

These providers are contractually prohibited from using your data for any purpose other than providing services to HomeworkLand. We do not sell personal information. Ever.

7. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS), secure cloud infrastructure, and access controls to protect your family's information. Child passwords are stored in our database and shared only with family members the parent authorizes via Family Link. While no system is 100% secure, we take every reasonable precaution to protect your data.

8. Parental Rights & Data Deletion

As a parent or legal guardian, you have the right to:

• Review personal information we have collected about your child
• Correct inaccurate information in your child's profile
• Delete your child's profile and all associated data
• Withdraw consent and request account deletion at any time
• Manage Family Link — view and revoke any family member's access to your child
• Refuse further collection of your child's data while still using available features

9. Data Retention

We retain your data as long as your account is active. Upon account deletion request, we will permanently delete all personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law. Family Link connections are also removed when a child's profile is deleted.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. If we make material changes that affect how we handle children's data, we will notify parents by email before the changes take effect. Continued use of HomeworkLand after notification constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
